Sara Flores, Phd

Emeritus Operations Manager

Dr. Flores is a recent graduate of Texas A&M University's School of Public Health and a postdoctoral fellow at the National Cancer Institute. Sara has served a range of learners throughout her career, from preschool-age children to adult cancer survivors. She has experience with community-based research and evaluation, as well as training in advanced research methods, with an emphasis on systems approaches.

vaneeza sheikh

Student intern

Vaneeza is a senior at the University of Houston studying Public Health with a minor in Biology. She is on the pre-dental track and aspires to become a dentist dedicated to improving access to preventive oral healthcare. Although she has always had a strong passion for health and wellness, her commitment deepened after participating in a medical brigade to Guatemala, where she served underserved communities and witnessed firsthand the impact of limited healthcare access. Vaneeza is especially interested in community health education, prevention, and outreach, and looks forward to expanding her experience in health promotion and research.

anh'tu rivera

Student intern

Anh'tu is a Houston native and University of Houston student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Health with a concentration in Public Health and a minor in Biology. She served eight years of active duty in the U.S. Navy as a logistics specialist, earning three specialized NECs, two warfare specialist qualifications, five Navy Achievement Medals, and seven service ribbons. As a woman and a mother in a male-dominated field, her service strengthened her resilience and deepened her passion for advocacy. Anh'tu is committed to building healthier communities through advocacy and outreach.
